For as long as I can remember I have had an awareness of yoga in my life as my mum practiced when I was a wee toddler. That influence unfortunately did not rub off on me until more recent years when I decided to attend Power Yoga classes both at the gym and The Yoga Spot. I instantly fell in love with all things yogic but especially the Ashtanga Vinyasa system and before I knew it was attending a teacher training course. My yoga journey is only just beginning and I’m very much looking forward to learning new experiences as a student as well as a teacher.

I started yoga whilst at university but my practice was pretty sporadic at the time, sometimes going months before practicing again. It wasn't until I moved back to Aberdeen that I started to build up a consistent practice. I soon became hooked on the clarity my mind felt after practicing and decided I wanted to develop my awareness of not just the physical asanas within yoga but the philosophy that's behind yoga. I signed up to the CYS teacher training course and soon found that yoga goes beyond the mat and applies to everything you do in life. I am eternally grateful that I found yoga and will continue to learn more and more throughout my life and will always be sincerely grateful for the knowledge that my tutors have passed on to me. Since completing the course I have gone on to do a pre and post natal yoga workshop with Amanda Reid. I am now teaching yoga as well as continuing my own personal practice and I feel I have been given the tools needed to continue to learn everything yoga has to teach.

Discover yourself through Yoga! I discovered yoga in my mid twenties when I was so desperate to fulfil my life and find myself. My personal journey has opened many doors for me and I continue to learn through my students and through my practice. I am so grateful to all my Indian teachers for their knowledge and guidance, and blessed to have studied with CYS London which expanded my interest and confidence. Over the past 5 years since completing my teacher training I have continued to grow from within. The benefits of yoga are so vast that making it a part of your life is an absolute must. It will always be there for you and it will never let you down. I love teaching and I love the energy I gain from getting on my mat. Namaste.

I believe Yoga has always been in my blood. However, like life I had to go down different paths and take many journeys before discovering my purpose. I found yoga and discovered its true benefits while studying dance in University. Then while living in NY I immersed myself in my yoga practice finding dance becoming put second best next to my yoga practice. The power and beauty of yoga astonished me and I began noticing and feeling changes in me. After moving to Aberdeen I began searching out yoga classes, knowing that yoga was the path I now wanted to follow. It was my husband who encouraged me, having seen firsthand the changes yoga made to me, why I didn’t learn to teach yoga? Excited by this I thought ……why not learn more about yoga. I signed up for the CYS Teacher Training Course, and once enrolled the head teacher told me about Gill and the Yoga Spot. I went to a Tuesday night class and was hooked. I cannot say enough for what the course, Gill and all the fabulous people at the Spot have given me. I am so blessed to work with some amazing teachers that have inspired my passion and love for teaching yoga. I love being a yoga teacher and bask in the knowledge that yoga is amazing and so fulfilling. I believe one can only teach what they themselves have practiced. I will always remain a student of yoga.
